New OM-1 MkII Camera and Lens from OM System
30.01.2024
Take off with the new M.Zuiko 150-600mm zoom
OM-1 Mk II
Two years after the release of the OM-1, OM System have launched an updated OM-1 Mk II body with two new lenses
Changes to the OM-1 are subtle, but powerful. From my own testing, AF is significantly improved over the already class-leading system in the current OM-1.
Sensor resolution is maintained at the more than adequate 20Mp and image quality has been improved and to my perception, noise levels further reduced, putting OM-1 MkII image quality on a level with many full frame bodies and well beyond most crop frame cameras in the market. Did I mention improvements to video too?
The AI Detection AF, developed using deep learning technologies, recognizes a wide spectrum of subjects, including birds, animals, cars and now includes humans, enhancing autofocusing for exceptional clarity, even under the most challenging conditions.
Raising the bar for high-speed shooting performance, the OM-1 Mark II's increased memory buffer allows for an increased number of sequential shots and with Pro Capture, users can seize fleeting moments at up to 120 fps during AF/AE lock and approximately 50 fps during AF/AE tracking.
For landscape photographers, the body now provides the World’s first Live GND harnessing computational photography to replicate the effects of a half ND filter.

From the sell sheet:
A typical super-wide-angle lense tends to be big, heavy, and expensive, making it difficult for most camera users to take advantage of them.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm F4.0-5.6 II promises to change all this. With its ultra compact and lightweight design and the outstanding portability, thanks to the DSA (Dual Super Aspherical) lens, available only with the Four Thirds System, this lens will make super-wide-angle photography friendlier and more affordable.
Despite its compact size — it’s just 49.5 mm long and weighs a mere 155 grams — this lens boasts a long focusing range equivalent to 18-36 mm on a 35-mm camera lens.
