Birds, wildlife and Scenery - Photography holidays in the Scottish Highlands

The Highlands in Summer are beautiful, with long views, fresh air, unlimited space and very few people - heaven!

Photography and wildlife in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, with tuition for those that want it.

This is a magical time of year with many Divers, Slavonian Grebes, Gannets and Osprey all present and relatively easy to photograph. We visit locations across the Highlands of Scotland to see and photograph these iconic species of Birds and Wildlife and the outstanding landscapes they inhabit.

We have very small groups and relaxed pace to ensure that guests enjoy the experience and scenery along the way, as well as getting great pictures.

Why book with us?

Nick is an award-winning photographer and teacher - with 30 years experience as a professional photographer and trainer for Canon, Phase One and Adobe, he has proven ability and the detailed knowledge of the craft of photography and camera settings to help even advanced photographers improve technique and the presentation of their photographs.

From camera setup to image processing, colour management and printing - everyone will take plenty of knowledge away from these trips, together with a set of beautiful pictures of birds, wildlife, and landscape.

Suitability

Suitable for Photographers, Birders and anyone who loves the outdoors. Experienced as a photographer or just starting out; there is something in these holidays for everyone. Ideally you need a DSLR or Mirrorless camera, but if you bring a Bridge camera, we will still show you how to get some beautiful pictures.

If you have questions, please call or message us, our suggestions can probably save you money on purchases too.

For partners and non-photographers there is so much to see and do in this outstanding region and we always have a spare scope and binoculars.

These trips are vehicle based. The Mountain Hare trip is slightly harder and necessitates up to 3 miles of walking in total, including a steep gradient, possibly with snow cover. Warm, waterproof clothes are recommended.

Testimonials

Our trips are built on a passion for wildlife, birds, photography and a great deal of hard work, to ensure the best possible experience. Our guests recognise this and we've had some lovely feedback. Here is just one that we received this week after a Somerset Wildlife Safari:

" I love doing photographic trips with Nick and have done three to date; Scotland, Birds of Prey and Somerset. He is a very knowledgeable photographer and keen to share his knowledge in a way that is understandable to his audience. He is also flexible in his approach and not afraid to alter plans if the wildlife isn’t where it was expected to be."
